Seminarians from the Parish

FATHER ANDY VU

For many years before entering the Congregation of the Divine Word Missionaries, Father Andy Vu was a leader in Saint Cecilia’s Eucharistic Youth Movement. Father Andy was born in Vietnam and came to Louisiana in 1982 and then California in 1988. It was in 1989 that Father Andy became a registered parishioner of St. Cecilia’s. After serving as youth leader he became the coordinator for the youth movement.

In 1995 he joined Divine Word and in 1999 received his BA degree in Cross-Cultural Studies with a Minor in Philosophy. From 2000 to 2004, Father Andy studied Theology at CTU. He completed his Masters of Divinity and is presently working on a second Masters in Spirituality. In May of 2007, Father Andy Vu was ordained to the Priesthood. After his ordination he was sent to Ecuador on his first missionary and priestly assignment.

St. Cecilia’s is proud to be the spiritual home of Father Andy and wishes him the Lord’s blessings in his new life in the Priesthood. We pray that his example will lead other young men from our parish to enter into the Holy Priesthood.
